REASONS TO BE CHEERFUL…..PART 2!
How thankful we all will be to out of the second lockdown; definitely many reasons to be cheerful! We are so lucky to be living down here in Devon, not only because we have less risk of Covid infection, but also because of the lovely surroundings of moor and sea. Perhaps 2020 has made us all appreciate Nature around us which many of us have taken for granted.

The quieter life we have been leading, has given us all opportunities to tackle problems that have been bugging us for a long while but we’ve never quite got round to sorting them out.

Dealing with skin problems that may have annoyed you for ages can give you a sense of satisfaction- look better- feel better!

Dr Ruth Harker of The Erme Skin Clinic

Dr Ruth Harker is the Medical Director of The Erme Skin Clinic, with over 30 years of medical experience, and specialising in Dermatology. She has worked in the NHS all her career as a GP and Dermatology Hospital Practitioner. She is a Board Member of the British College of Aesthetic Medicine; the academic body for doctors striving for the highest standard in this branch of medicine.

Safe in our Hands…..

Every patient has Dr Harker’s personal attention at their medical appointment at the Erme Skin Clinic.

We have put everything possible in place to prevent the spread of Coronavirus.

This includes a Virus Killer Air Purifier that extracts 99.9999% of all viruses and bacteria in the treatment room.

Patients are screened prior to their appointment to check they are well and suitable to attend.

The patient’s temperature is taken before they cross the threshold and only one person is allowed in the waiting room at any one time. There is a one way system with maximum ventilation through doors and windows. Protocols for heightened hygiene methods, PPE and social distancing are strictly adhered to.

Dr Harker says:-
“I find that people’s attitude has changed. They have had more time at home to ponder on skin problems and reasoned since they can’t go on holiday or go out to spend freely at shops and restaurants they definitely decide to get rid of that pesky skin problem”.

Problems such as that unsightly mole, skin tags, sun spots, cyst or fatty lump that they have always hated or is causing irritation. These can be removed with a straightforward, quick method under local anaesthesia, often using Radio Frequency surgery. Dr Harker will examine you carefully and explain the best option for your particular case and all about the procedure.

Often patients have attended their GP to be told treatment for their benign lesion is not available on the NHS. This Covid year in particular, patients have had difficulty in accessing a GP’s appointment at all for some skin problems.

Prices at The Erme Skin Clinic are affordable and considerably less than private hospitals and other local minor operation services.

Other treatments the Erme Skin Clinic offer are anti-ageing treatments such as wrinkle relaxing injections, fillers to replace lost facial volume, Silhouette Soft Thread Lift to correct the saggy lower face. Also treatments for acne such as chemical peels and Dermaroller micro-needling and treatments for Rosacea such as RF ablation of blood vessels. Our website has details of all these treatments.

So now with more time at home it’s a good opportunity to plan for the future and arrange an appointment. If there is a skin problem you would like to discuss please:-
