Entertain the Kids this Christmas

It’s the countdown to Christmas and the children can hardly contain their excitement for the sound of Santa’s sleigh! Make Christmas come that little bit quicker with these festive events in and around Plymouth!

Christmas is the time of year when the kids go crackers with all the sugary sweeties and the promise of Santa’s sleigh soon to be speeding through the snow to deliver the gifts they’ve all been waiting so patiently for (or perhaps not so patiently). With that in mind, we’ve found four festive events to entertain the kids during the countdown to Christmas 2019.

Storytime with Father Christmas at Saltram House, Plymouth.
December 1st.

Take the kids and join Santa in the stables at Saltram House as he shares his festive stories and sings some seasonal songs.

The enchantment begins at 5:00pm, tickets are available for children aged 1 year upwards, so wrap up and listen to the wonderful winter

wisdom from Father Christmas himself.

‘The Snowman’ Santa’s Grotto at Boringdon Hall Hotel, Plymouth.
December 8th.

Meet the man himself this Christmas and receive your first present at Boringdon Hall with ‘The Snowman’ themed Santa’s Grotto.

A delightful day of dance, decorating, and delicious afternoon tea.

Book your place and choose between a 12.30pm or 4:00pm sitting and let the magical moments of Christmas begin!

Festive fun at the Donkey Sanctuary, Ivybridge.
December 14.

The Donkey Sanctuary in Ivybridge is having a free Christmas market to celebrate the snowy season, open from 11:00am to 3:00pm.

There is something for all the family, including a raffle, tombola, live music, and hot and cold seasonal foods and drinks.

The market offers a selection of special and unique gifts so you don’t have to stop the fun to get the shopping done!

Let the kids enjoy the face painting, storytime, and writing to Santa. They will also have the chance to meet the resident herd of donkeys, including Pooh. Eeyore, and Lucky the Donkey. All proceeds from the event help fund the work of The Donkey Sanctuary. You can even have a photo taken with Santa and Lucky the Donkey to remember the day!

December 21st.

Frog Fest Events presents the 2019 Children’s Christmas Party! Take the kids to enjoy a dance at the disco, games, fancy dress, raffles, and refreshments!

Tickets are free and available for the 2:00pm – 4:30pm sitting, and the 5:30pm – 8:00pm.
