Man on a Push Bike is a sponsored cycle ride that will be carried out by husband and wife team Paul and Donna Tullock. In August of 2018, Paul’s Dad suffered a near-fatal brain haemorrhage, which resulted in a 62 day stay in hospital. Thankfully he’s on the mend now, but only after some fantastic care by the people at the Plym Neurological Rehabilitation Unit at Mount Gould Hospital, Plymouth.
The entire ordeal inspired Paul to take on a challenge this year and raise some funds for the unit. These funds will go towards extra equipment to aid the rehab process for future patients.
“I am planning to cycle the ‘Coast-to-Coast’ challenge across Devon. This is a 91 mile route from Ilfracombe to Plymouth. Well, that’s not enough of a challenge in my mind, so; I’m doing it twice: Plymouth, to Ilfracombe, to Plymouth, all in one day.”
Paul will be joined by David of Velo-Smith (pictured in the header), Plympton’s locals bike shop. He is also a partner of #rideforplym. The ride will be taking place on Saturday 13th July this year. If you would like to sponsor the ride, there are three sponsorship packages available. These are; King & Queen of the Mountains (£185), Trophy (£100) and PR (£50). Details of these can be found on the ManOnAPushBike blog site (which can be found at the end of this editorial, or in the image below). All packages can be tailored to your specific requirements.
Paul has set-up a blog site and an Instagram page to cover the event and everything leading up to it. If you choose to get involved then Paul will feature and promote your business on these two platforms. Any involvement with the ride is a push in the right direction, find out how you can today.
