Slide into the Summer at Royal William Yard

Celebrate the return of summer as the Royal William Yard’s award-winning Good Food Market makes its welcome return on Sunday 2^nd June. As well as sampling some of the region’s best food from local traders, families will also have the chance to take part in a range of free fun sporting activities on offer from High 5, including archery, dodgeball and more!

Boasting the flavours of summer, the Good Food and Craft Market will be held from 10am – 3pm throughout the lawn, along Main Street and inside the Melville Building. Visitors to the Yard can purchase the freshest local produce and unique arts and crafts from the South West’s top suppliers and artisan makers.

Set to be an exhilarating day of family fun, the market will also play host to a range of activities on offer from High 5 Sports & Activity Camps in the Yard’s Residence One Gardens from 11am – 2pm. Helping to get everyone in the spirit of summer and run by a team of local qualified teachers and sports coaches, just some of the activities on offer include soft archery and dodgeball.

For those who can’t make it, don’t worry as High 5 will be returning to host a weekend packed with activities and plenty of laughter! Bounce your way into the weekend on Saturday 3^rd August, by having a go at a range of zorbing activities, from duels and rolling races to the hilarious bubble football – thrill seekers can also take a ride down the 20m inflatable outdoor Slip ‘n Slide! Taking place on the Yard’s lawn, simply visit on the day to book a session for just £3.00. For those using the Slip ‘n Slide, don’t forget to bring a towel and a change of clothes!

On Sunday 4^th August, visitors are invited to join High 5’s Wild Tribe Family sessions to experience life as a survivalist. Under the guidance of experts, families can learn how to build a shelter, as well as the art of fire lighting. Once mastered, you can also have a go at cooking (and eating – if you choose!) a selection of insects, including meal worms and crickets. Other, more traditional open fire treats will also be available, including hot chocolate and marshmallows on homemade skewers.

Wild Tribe Family sessions will be taking place on the lawn, both in the morning from 10am – 12pm and in the afternoon from 1pm – 3pm.
