These past few months, we have done our very best to support independent, local businesses in the run-up to Christmas. We would like to start January off in the most positive way possible and we believe that a part of that positivity can come from shopping locally!

Supporting your local businesses has so many more positives than just helping the shop owner keep their pride and joy.

Spending money in a local shop helps to circulate the money around the community, meaning that every £10 you spend in-store, the shop owner on average, spends £50 in restaurants, pubs, food grocers etc.

Having local businesses rather than large companies in your community actually creates more jobs and on average, they offer more competitive salaries for employees.
The customer service you receive from independent shops is far more personal than if you were to shop at chain companies. If done right, they both share great customer service however, you are more likely to build a better relationship with the shop owner because they have your full attention. They are more likely to recommend things to you if you are a frequent shopper and small touches like gift wrapping are more common.
